Branson's Nantucket features numerous show offerings to its members. According to Geoff Petters, operations manager of the resort, “This helps our members with ticket discounts and special promotions offered throughout the neighboring Branson Strip. Penny Gilley has her new restaurant Penny Gilley’s Louisiana Fixin’s as well as one of the best shows in Branson.
“Penny has spent over a decade of her life devoted to entertaining our military personnel and most people don’t realize how giving a person she is” said Petters. Penny’s live shows are taped and also available as a television program on the RFD channel that is rapidly becoming very popular with all ages. At present she performs here in Branson at the Branson Star theatre where anybody interested in seeing her perform may visit Branson's Nantucket welcome center and get a price reduction on her show.
Penny Gilley grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana, where her first audience was made up by neighbors seated in the pews at Southside Assembly of God. Penny, only nine then, would sing while her mom, Barbara, played the piano and, James, Penny’s dad, played the guitar and is perhaps why her Dad is notwithstanding her most boastful fan.
“That's why Branson is so exited to have Penny Gilley as one of our featured stars playing here” added Petters. “Penny is a fantastic person who puts on a great show and does a lot of great work in the community. We highly recommend her show and her restaurant to all of our members at Branson’s Nantucket.”
Penny herself stated, “Branson is definitely a place where you are able to really meet your fans up close. I recall when I was a child, and Ernest Tubb would make it town. He had taken the time to talk to people," she tells "and it really made an impression on me. I promised myself that if I ever got the good fortune to perform, I'd do the same thing."
Penny Gilley has played with numerous country headliners including her idols Barbara Mandrell and Loretta Lynn. She delivers performances throughout the country and around the world in venues from The Golden Nugget and Bally's Casino in Las Vegas & Reno to venues throughout the United States and the world.
Branson's Nantucket will be offering specials to all guest coming into Branson over the holidays. According to Petters, “Everyone is welcome to stop by our welcome center and get discounted tickets to see this wonderful entertainer.
